What are Hairdreams extensions?
Hairdreams is a human-hair extension and hair-thickening brand headquartered in Graz, Austria. According to the company, it was founded in 1994, entered the US market in 2001, and sells its systems through trained partner salons rather than directly to consumers. Everything below is summarised from the brand's public pages, linked at the bottom.
Bonded extensions
Individual strands of real human hair carry a bond that is fused to small sections of natural hair. The brand describes two application methods:
- FreeStyler: each strand is applied by hand, with a choice of bond thicknesses to match your own hair density. Bonds can be shaped round or flat.
- Laserbeamer (ULTRA / NANO): a device applies up to five strands at once, which the brand presents as a faster option with flat bonds.
The brand says bonded extensions can be worn continuously for about 4 to 6 months, with salon check-ins it suggests every 4–6 weeks.
Rebonding ("7-Star" hair)
Hairdreams says its top "7-Star" hair quality can be removed after a wear period, sent back to the company for new bonds, and re-applied. It says this can be done twice, for three wear periods in total (up to about a year and a half).
Tape-ins: Quikkies and Secrets
Hairdreams tape-ins use thin adhesive strips applied with the common "sandwich" method: a section of natural hair sits between two tapes. No heat tools are used. The brand offers Quikkies for length and volume, and Secrets, a variant designed to sit higher on the head, near the parting or crown. It describes the tapes as reusable and says they are moved up roughly every 6–8 weeks.
MicroLines (hair thickening)
MicroLines is the brand's system for thinning hair and hair loss: real hair hand-tied onto a fine mesh, attached around its edge to the natural hair, which is then pulled through the mesh. The brand describes this as a long-term thickening solution rather than a length extension.
Who they suit
Suitability, method and price are decided at a consultation with a partner salon. The brand says pricing depends on hair quality, length, volume and styling options.
